A recent visitor to our country from Japan is Tomo Maeda, who performed at The Magic Castle during his stay. After sitting at the Castle and talking to Dai Vernon,he came up with his quick fooler magicians.
I read Yanagida's comments and could only think of what the WAM workers have > said to each other many times, "It's amazing the lengths some magicians > will go to try to explain why they want to expose magic, and/or build and sell > other magician's inventions, when all they are doing is trying to make > money from other people's work, going against what are considered "the standard > ethics in our magic profession". > > At times I thought Yanagida had gotten Valentino's writers to write the > hogwash he was spouting. He sounds no different from Valentino. He > obviouslyapproves of Valentino. > > If many more top TV producers decide what Yanagida is doing is okay, the > God help the magic world. > > > > Thanks for keepng us updated.
I'm glad you sent Shoot Ogawa's latest comment to me . It is the same "bullshit" that was written for Valentino to say.
Valentino also said he wanted to help young magicians get interested in the magical arts by showing them on national TV a few simple tricks...like Zig Zag, Sword Cabinet, Aga Levitation, Table of Death, Linking Rings, rabbit production, and many more of the classic tricks and illusions used by professional magicians. Apparently Ogawa thinks exposing the famous classic Thumb Tie is okay also.
They are not fooling anyone on this. They have their own reasons for wanting to expose magic secrets. They act like they never heard of the "ethics in magic". They pretend they "don't uderstand why anyone would be against their exposure on national TV".
But they know, I guarantee it. I hope it will be stopped.
